PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct optimum traveling control in response to a road condition, and to enhance operation feeling. SOLUTION: This device has a transmission 105 for shifting, a road condition detecting means 101 for detecting a road condition, a traveling environmental condition determining means 102 for determining a traveling environmental condition based on the road condition, a control condition determining means 103 for determining a control condition based on two or more of determined results by the means 102, and a shift control means 104 for controlling the transmission 105 according to the control condition and operation of a vehicle by a driver. Since the traveling environmental condition is determined based on the road condition, and since the control condition is determined based on two or more of the detrmined results, the control condition unnecessary according to the road condition can be removed. The optimum traveling control is conducted thereby in response to the road condition. |
