PRODUCTION OF POROUS POLYESTER-BASED THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a safe porous film consisting essentially of a polyester- based thermoplastic elastomer which has hitherto been difficult to process without causing any problem in sanitation and without deteriorating performances inherent in the resin. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution prepared by mixing (B) an aqueous emulsion consisting essentially of (A) a polyester-based thermoplastic elastomer with (C) a polymer imcompatible with the polymer (A) and compatible or dispersible in the emulsion (B) is used and cast to form a film, which is then heat- treated at a temperature not lower than the melting point of the elastomer (A). The resultant film is subsequently dipped in a solution incompatible with the elastomer (A) and compatible with the polymer (C) to extract the latter (C).
