PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety elevator brake that is suitable for a high-speed elevator with heavy loads. SOLUTION: This safety elevator brake to stop an elevator car is provided with a carbon-carbon composite material 36 provided on the wearing surface of a brake shoe which creates braking force by contacting to a surface of an elevator guide rail 16. Since the wearing surface of the brake formed with a carbon-carbon composite material has a constantly high friction coefficient and a low wear rate, it is suitable for a high speed elevator with heavy loads for use in a high building. This material can be optimized by forming into a two or three dimensional knit structure. |
