PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the jolting-back of a vehicle and a shock caused by it while avoiding extension of a braking distance of the vehicle. SOLUTION: Whether a vehicle is in a comparatively sudden braking stop state and there is possibility to cause the jolting-back of a car body or not is judged (S20, 50, 60), whether the car body actually stops or not is discriminated (S70), when the car body stops by braking of the vehicle at the time of travelling on a horizontal road (S70 and 90), braking force of each wheel is controlled to be zero until stroke speed of suspensions of front and rear wheels actually becomes zero, the after-shock of the car body is prevented by relatively moving the wheels forward against the car body by reaction of recovering force of the suspensions, and positional recovering speed of the car body is reduced by controlling extension side damping force of a shock absorber of the front wheel and contraction side damping force of a shock absorber of the rear wheel to the maximum (S100, 140, 150).
