PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly adjust the output of a brake booster when it is operated as an automatic brake. SOLUTION: When a solenoid 38 is energized from a non-operation condition, a first cylindrical member 48 is moved to the rear side interlocking with a piston 48. This closes a vacuum valve 24 and opens an atmospheric valve 28. Thereby the atmosphere is introduced into pressure change chambers B and D, so that a valve body 6, etc., are moved left. Thus a tandem brake booster 1 works as an automatic brake. At this time, the atmospheric pressure in the chambers B and D acts on the inside of the valve element 22 and the first cylindrical member 48 so as to energize them toward the front side. The output of the assistor 1 is decided from the point where this energizing force toward the front side balances with the energizing force of the solenoid 38 whereby a piston 39 is energized toward the rear side. |
