PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a postscript type optical recording medium including an organic color element recording layer with superior recording characteristic and water resistance. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has at least a laser beam absorption recording layer and reflection layer on a transparent substrate having groups, and the recording layer is allowed to include the metallic compound of an azo compound as a main component shown by formula [in the formula, R1 expresses an electron attractive group such as a halogen atom, a halogen substitutional lower alkyl group, cyanic group, a nitro group, or the like, R2 expresses an alkyl group having substituted or nonsubstituted second or third carbon, R3 , R4 express respectively independently a hydrogen atom, or a straight chain of 1-4 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group wherein R3 , R4 can form rings, X expresses a hydrogen atom or sulfur atom, and Ar expresses a heterocyclic aromatic ring. |
