PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION WITH HIGH-SPECIFIC GRAVITY LIPOPROTEIN AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition exhibiting immediately effective and efficient blood platelet productivity, and useful as a therapeutic agent for thrombocytopenia. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition is such one that the high- specific gravity lipoprotein as active ingredient thereof having megakaryocytic cell projection formation activity has the following properties: (a) subject to no adsorption to a zinc chelating gel under the condition of 10 mM N-(2- hydroxyethyl)piperazine-N'-2-ethanesulfonic acid (HEPES) buffer solution with pH 7.4 containing 150 mM common salt; (b) capable of being fractionated with a molecular weight of 300 k±100 kd as peak in its gel filtration under the condition mentioned above; (c) capable of being fractionated to a specific gravity (d) of <=1.21; (d) containing apolipoprotein A-I as the constituent protein; and (e) having the ability to produce blood platelets.
