PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high quality fiber reinforced cement board having a satisfactory specific gravity of the matrix with considerably improved productivity without causing press cracking even in the case of a high water content before pressing. SOLUTION: When a cement-base aq. slurry blended with reinforcing fibers is prepd., dehydrated and press-formed to produce a fiber reinforced cement board, a nonionic surfactant is added to the cement-base aq. slurry. A polyether type nonionic surfactant is preferably added at 100-1,000 ppm concn. based on the solid content of the cement-base aq. slurry.
