A catalyst comprises a matrix and a zeolite of mazzite structure, partly in the acid form, comprising Si and Al , prepared by at least one treatment with a fluorosilicate solution of a cation and having 0.05 - 5 moles/ mole of Al in the dry zeolite. The catalyst may possibly contain another element from groups Ib or VIII. Also claimed, is the method of preparation and use.
