PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease an operating sound while realizing pointer action having an accurate and high class feeling, by holding a pointer in an accurate position when driving is stopped, and minimizing movement of the pointer after the driving is stopped, in the case of using a PM type stepper motor as a drive motor for a clock. SOLUTION: From a phase corresponding to a magnetic stable point 1, an A-drive waveform SA' and a B-drive waveform SB' are generated, a phase is advanced to be synchronized with a clock signal. In this way, a rotor is started to rotate from the magnetic stable point 1. When a phase of the A-drive waveform SA' and the B-drive waveform SB' is advanced to a phase corresponding to a magnetic stable point 2, generation of the A-drive waveform SA' and the B-drive waveform SB' is suspended. In this way, the rotor is stopped in the magnetic stable point 2. |
