An egg weigher and transport system (1) includes a plurality of egg conveyors (2) leading from poultry cages (3) to an elevator (4) that moves the eggs (9) to a main conveyor (7) located adjacent the elevator (4). The system (1) includes a plurality of transitions, at least one of which is configured to move eggs (9) from the egg conveyors (2) to the elevator (4). At least another one (8) of the transitions is configured to move eggs (9) from the elevator (4) to the main conveyor (7). A scale (10) is operably connected to a selected one of the transitions, and generates a signal corresponding to the weight of an egg (9) in the transition.
