A universally applicable intramedullary nail (1) for the treatment of complex fractures of the upper arm, thigh and lower leg, comprising 5 bore holes (2-6) on the proximal end of the nail and 3 bore holes (9, 10, 11) on the distal end thereof. The inventive nail is associated with an auxiliary target device enabling the attachment screws to be placed on the proximal end.
