The invention permits a rational, however, reliable two-channel monitoring of machine parameters also when only one permanent memory channel is available. To this end, CRC-checksums are calculated from the machine parameters which are to be monitored and in the redundant channels during a setup operation. In addition, the checksums are stored with the machine parameters in only one memory. During regular operation, the stored CRC-checksums are compared with newly calculated CRC-checksums which were likewise calculated based on the machine parameters that are read out of the memory. If no inadmissible change of a machine parameter results, the stored CRC-checksums must correspond with the newly calculated checksums. The machine parameters are not suited for a reliable operation when the stored CRC-checksums do not correspond with the newly calculated checksums. As a result, redundant assembly groups can be replaced by the CRC-checksums such that the operational reliability is not jeopardized. |
