The support structure, for ladders and frames, has an expanded side rail structure. An additional support foot (16) is fitted to at least one side rail (1) at a triangular linkage (2-8) with height adjustment. The linkage supports (2,3) along the side rail have a stepless fixing through a clamping clip or a clamp system (15).
