Locking device 1, especially for fitting to a handle 10 of a shopping trolley, comprising a housing 2 and 9, which has a gripping part 3, which grips the handle 10. The gripping part 4 partially encloses the handle 10, and the housing contains a rocker arm 4, which is rotatably supported in the housing, so that the rocker arm 4 can be moved by an adjusting screw 6 towards the handle 10 into a position in which the rocker arm protrudes from the surface of the gripping part 5, with the result that the handle can be clamped tightly against at least one opposing surface of the gripping part 3. <IMAGE>
