The invention relates to a reservoir for an iron, comprising a lower half-shell (11) having at least one annular formed part (23, 33) and an upper half-shell (12) with at least one annular formed part (24, 34) designed to fit into and/or over the corresponding annular formed part (23, 33) of the lower half-shell (11), characterized in that at least one (24, 34) of the formed parts (23, 33; 24, 34) has an irreversible fixed covering which serves as seal. The invention also relates to a method for producing a reservoir for an iron, characterized in that the or one of the coverings serving as sealing joint (25, 35) is obtained by overmoulding over the or one of the annular formed parts (24, 34) or with one (12) of the half-shells by bi-injection moulding.
