STRAW AND DISPENSING DEVICE FOR USE IN A BEVERAGE CONTAINER

A straw assembly (22) disposed within a beverage container (10) and adapted for use with various positioning mechanisms is disclosed. The straw assembly (22) includes a plurality of structural features formed therein for appropriately locating the positioning mechanism (30, 32). Additionally, a positioning mechanism (30, 32) slidably locatable along the axial length of the straw (24) is disclosed which appropriately positions the straw (24) in an opening of the container (10). The straw assembly (22) may be fabricated from a photo-degradable material which expedites the photodegradation of the straw assembly (22) when exposed to sunlight.
