A lamp for cars, especially a tail lamp, has a housing in which at least one light source is located and which has a rear main part (2) plus a front closing part (3). There is at least one fastening hole (4) in the main part by which the main part can be fixed on the car. The closing part has at least one open region (5) whose edge section (6) runs at a distance from an installation surface (7) of the main part serving as the fastening device and lies on the main part. The open region of the closing part is closed by a cover (9) between which and the housing exists a detachable retaining device (10).
