System for swiveling seat of motor vehicle upon detection of impact by vehicle against obstacle

In the event of an impact a triggering signal operates an actuator(3) which swivels the seat(2) around a fixing rail from its neutral position into the interior of the vehicle. The actuator is a spring device which is held in a pretensioned state by at least one explosive screw(6) which is activated by the triggering signal and has a pyrotechnic charge inside it. The explosive screws clamp the seat to the floor of the vehicle when it is in the neutral position.
