The tire pressure monitoring method uses the detected wheel rotation rates provided by wheel sensors (34) for determining the rotation rate of each wheel axle, compared with the axle rotation rate obtained simultaneously by a different method. The deviation in the resulting offset, compared with a threshold value for operation of a warning device (39), provides a warning signal.
