The frame (1, 6) comprises pairs of closely-spaced sections (2, 10) of solid material parallel to its plane, with an intervening core (3, 11) of structural insulant. Sections and core feature permanent, weatherproof adhesion. Preferred features: The solid sections of the frame are e.g. hardwood or softwood. They and the core, are of the same thickness. The insulant core is alternatively thicker. There may be more than two spaced, solid material components with intervening foam. cores and solid material are permanently bonded by weather-resistant adhesion.
