Method of liquid-cooling an inverter device

An inverter device (1) mounted on a heat sink (2) for controlling a pump (8) is cooled with a cooling liquid which is typically water discharged by the pump. The rate of flow of the cooling liquid supplied to the heat sink is regulated by a flow regulating mechanism (10,101) based on the temperature of the heat sink detected by a temperature detecting device (102), for thereby keeping the temperature of the heat sink in a predetermined range. The heat sink supplied with the cooling liquid which is thus regulated by the flow regulating mechanism prevents the inverter device and wires connected thereto from being overly cooled and hence from suffering moisture condensation.
