PURPOSE:To improve the formation efficiency of a positive electrode by providing a small lug with the same or higher height than the frame bone of a lattice body at the middle of adjacent lattice points of a lattice body for the positive electrode, and providing a conducting sheet on the face of an unformed electrode plate in contact with the electrode plate. CONSTITUTION:Thicknesses of the frame skeleton 1 and inner skeleton 2 of a lattice for a positive electrode are set to 1.5mm and 0.75mm respectively, and a circular small lug 4 with the diameter 1mm is protruded by 0.05mm from the face 5 of the lattice body at the middle of adjacent lattice points. Carbon fibers with the diameter 10-20mum are crossed and stacked on a glass mat 7 with the thickness 0.8mm to form a carbon fiber layer 8 under a load 10kg/dm<2> for the total thickness 1.0mm, a separating plate 6 mainly made of reinforced fibers 0.25mm is stuck to it to obtain a sheet-shaped mat. A positive electrode plate is manufactured in the normal electrode plate manufacturing process after lead paste is filled in the above lattice body, and the sheet-shaped mat is arranged so that the positive electrode plate is brought into contact with the fiber layer 8. The formation efficiency is improved, and formation can be performed in a short period with a small electric quantity. |
