PURPOSE:To obtain a highly hygroscopic fiber having a excellent hygroscopic property and permeability, capable of freely weaving and knitting, having good feeling and suitable as a raw material for sport good by blending a powdered ultrafine animal fiber with a chemical fiber raw material polymer and spinning the blend. CONSTITUTION:A powdered ultrafine animal protein fiber (preferably having 0.1-100mum powder diameter) is blended with a linear polymer of chemical fiber raw material consisting of one or more kinds of synthetic fiber, semisynthetic fiber and regenerated fiber (preferably rayon), preferably at an amount of the animal protein fiber of 1-99wt.% based on the linear polymer and the blended composition is spun to provide the highly hygroscopic fiber. Preferably, the above-mentioned blended composition may be spun in such a manner as to cover the surface of other fiber or the blended composition is used a core fiber and may be spun with other fiber used as a sheath fiber. |
