The capacitor bank (10) is protected by a current limiter (11) in series with the input to the capacitor bank. Each capacitor has a series-connected switch (12) which opens if the current in the capacitor is too high. A series resistor (13) limits capacitor current. The current in each of the resistors in monitored by a central maintenance system (7) to indicate failure of a capacitor. |
