The invention concerns an automatic electrohydraulically controlled transmission, in particular for motor vehicles, the transmission comprising: an input shaft (12); an output shaft (14); transmission means between the shafts which are actuated hydraulically in order to control variations in ratios; a hydraulic control system (20) with electrical solenoid valves which feed the hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuating means; and an electronic control system (22) for controlling the solenoid valves. The electronic control system controls the solenoid valves as a function of input parameters and signals from rotational speed sensors on the shafts. In order to obtain a simple and reliable assembly of the hydraulic and electronic control systems, said systems are mounted immediately adjacent each other on an endface gearbox flange (18).
