PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OR PREVENTION OF DISEASE TRANSMITTED BY TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition for treatment or prevention of diseases transmitted by tumor necrosis factor(TNF), in particular TNF- transmitted septic shock, arthritis and adult respiratory distress syndromes by including a recombinant TNF inhibitor having a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This composition contains a recombinant TNF inhibitor having an amino acid sequence shown by the formula and composed of a 30 kDa inhibitor containing a nonnaturally occurring cysteine residue in the 105th amino acid residue. It is preferable to administer the TNF inhibitor at a dose of 150 mg/kg-body weight/24 h at intervals of 3 h. It is also preferable to continue the administration for at least 24 h. The TNF inhibitor can be bound to a repeated polymer component. Polyethylene glycol is the preferable polymer component. It is preferable to administer the composition parenterally by infection.
