<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new heterocyclic compound having a specified nitrogenous cyclic group and low toxicity, capable of manifesting excellent neurodegeneration inhibitory action and intraencephatic migration and useful for the treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or Down's syndrome. SOLUTION: This compound (or a salt thereof) is represented by formula I [Ar<1> and Ar<2> are each a (substituted) aromatic group; Q is a (substituted) chain aliphatic hydrocarbon bivalent group which may be interposed by a bivalent group selected from O, (oxidized) S and a (substituted) imino; X is H, an electron-attracting group or a (substituted) aromatic group; (A) ring is a (substituted) nitrogenous 5 to 7-membered cyclic group such as a group of formula II (R<7a> and R<7b> are each a 1-6C alkyl or the like)], e.g. 3-[5-(1,4-dimethoxy-3- methylnaphthalen-2-yl)-5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)pentyl]-5,5-dimethyl-1,4,2-d ioxazole. When A ring is a group of formula II, the compound of formula I is obtained by condensation reaction of a compound of formula III with a compound of formula IV (T is a OH protective group) to obtain a compound of formula V and then cyclization reaction of the resultant compound.</p> |
