SUBSTANCE: system is provided with antitheft protection control device exchanging information with at least one function control device, in particular, with engine control device, to control its readiness for operation. Exchange is carried out through data transmission line connecting these devices. External device providing exchange of data with at least one of control devices and function control devices can be connected, it necessary, to data transmission line. Data transmission line is essentially diagnostic line installed in vehicle. To provide control of data exchange one of control devices operates as control unit. If above indicated external device is connected to data transmission line, it takes the function of control unit from control device which controls data exchange. EFFECT: provision of reliable protection of vehicle from unauthorized use, simplified design. 12 cl, 7 dwg
