PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transmission of fluid and improve sealing capability by covering the surface of a ring-shaped core body made of a resin material with a thin coating layer made of a rubber material. SOLUTION: A seal ring 1 is the one in which a coating layer 3 of a rubber material is integrally formed on the surface of a ring-shaped core body 2 made of a resin material. As the core body 2, fluororesin, in particular, is suitable and the cross section of a resin material is formed into a cylindrical shape and the plane is formed into a ring-shape by a molding machine for a compression molding, an injection molding and a transfer molding. On the surface of the core body 2, the coating layer 3 is integrally burned and molded. Small recessed and projecting parts are formed on the surface of the core body 2 or a plurality of small grooves are formed along the peripheral direction, the recessed and projecting parts and the grooves are molded integrally with the coating layer 3, and adhesive strength force with the coating layer 3 is made excellent. As the coating layer 3, fluorine-contained rubber, NBR, silicon rubber are suitable. In particular, fluoroelastomer as a material sealing corrosive fluid is suitable for the coating layer 3. Therefore, because swelling due to liquid can be prevented and the core body 2 does not transmit both of gas and liquid to be sealed, the core body 2 is excellent in interruption capability of working fluid. |
