PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose ester film reduced in the generation of cut refuse at the time of processing and excellent in processing aptitude capable of suppressing intraformational release, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: In a cellulose ester film 1A, at least the outer surface 1a on the single side of the film 1A shows elasticity lower than that of the interior 1b thereof. The cellulose ester film is produced by using a solns. of at least two kinds of cellulose ester resin compsns. different in elasticity in a dry state to cast them on a support so that the compsn. soln. low in elasticity is arranged on the support side and/or an atmosphere side and the cast films are peeled from the support and dried to produce a cellulose ester film having a multilayered structure of two or more layers and characterized by that the elasticity of at least the single outermost surface layer is lower than that of the inerior of the film.
