<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the rising time from the beginning of the propagation of bacteria to actual working filtration at a time when water in a water tank is filtered by utilizing aerobic bacteria and to efficiently perform filtering treatment decomposing ammonia contained in excretion such as excrements or the like of an aquarium fish to convert the same to a nitrate. SOLUTION: In a filter apparatus 100 for filtering water in a water tank by utilizing bacteria, a water pump 14 pumping up water to be filtered from the water tank 20, the motor 28 thereof, primary and secondary filter tanks 17, 18 housing the water to be filtered from the water pump 14, aerobic bacteria housed in the secondary filter tank 18 at least as a filter material and an air pump 24 supplying air 40 to these bacteria are provided. Oxygen contained in the air 40 is forcibly supplied to bacteria and fresh water 30b after filtered by bacteria to which oxygen is supplied is returned into the water tank 20.</p> |
