PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily expand bag of an air bag device and effectively protect passengers by arranging a straightening body which controls gas flow, so as to cover an inflator attaching opening, and connecting a panel side inflator to passangers' side inflator by means of tethers for regulating the spacings therebetween so as not to exceed specified length. SOLUTION: A head 22 of an inflator 20 is inserted into an inflator attaching opening 19 formed on the center portion of an inflator side panel 12. A bag 10 is three-dimensionally expanded by the gas injected from the inflator 20. Strap-like tethers 24, 26 made of flexible material such as cloth are horizontally extended for connecting the inflator side panel 12 to a passangers' side panel 14. A spacing between the panels 12 and 14 is regulated so as not to exceed the lengths of the tethers 24 and 26. Even flat form of the bag 10 is kept. The gas flow which is infected from a rectifying body 40 to the outer circumferential direction makes the bag 10 speedily expand in the outer circumferential direction.
