PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable barium titanate little in the fluctuation of characteristics by the changes of production conditions by mixing BaCO3 powder with TiO2 powder having a specific surface area of specific value or larger measured by BET method and subsequently calcining the mixture. SOLUTION: This method for producing barium titanate comprises mixing BaCO3 powder with TiO2 powder having a specific surface area of >=5 m<2> /g measured by BET method in a Ba/Ti ratio of 1:000 to 1:010 molar ratio and subsequently calcining the mixture powder at 900-1,200 deg.C in a calcination oven. The obtained barium titanate powder is preferably used as follows; adding Dy2 O3 , MgO, BaO, SiO, MnO2 and B2 O3 in prescribed amounts, respectively, to the obtained barium titanate powder, mixing the obtained reduction-resistant dielectric ceramic with a prescribed amount of a binder and a prescribed amount of a plasticizer, forming a green sheet from the mixture, punching the green sheet in a prescribed size, forming an inner electrode from a Ni paste, laminating the prescribed number of green sheets, pressing the laminate, sintering the laminate in a reducing atmosphere, and subsequently forming an outer electrode to provide a laminate ceramic condenser. |
