PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a skin preparation for external use, excellent in the humectant effect on the skin and the effect for promoting synthesis of ceramide which is an intercellular lipid of the skin, and useful for skin diseases such as dryness, roughness, itching, cracks and chaps, of the skin by including an extract of Sasa veitchii REHD and urea and/or an antiinflammatory agent. SOLUTION: This skin preparation for external use contains (A) an extract of Sasa veitchii REHD, preferably of 0.05-30 wt.% and (B) urea of 1-20 wt.% and/or (C) an antiinflammatory agent of 0.005-10 wt.%. Preferably, the component A is obtained by extracting the Sasa veitchii REHD with a 30-70 wt.% aqueous solution of ethanol, and the component C is glycyrrhizic acid and/or a salt thereof, and/or glycyrrhetic acid and/or a salt thereof, especially dipotassium glycyrrhizinate and/or stearyl glycyrrhetinate. Preferably, the skin preparation for the external use further contains 0-99 wt.% oil component (e.g. oil and fat and waxes). |
