PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a piston rod, for a long period of time, from damage by preventing the piston rod from being contacted with one end of a cover when the piston rod is dragged to its fully outward limit. SOLUTION: A rod guide 9 having a guiding portion 9C, a leaning inhibiting portion 9D, and a retainer 9E is mounted into an opening end 1A of a tube 1. When a piston rod 3 is dragged to its fully outward limit, the retainer 9E restrains the inner end 5E of a cover 5, and the leaning inhibiting portion 9D is positioned between the inner end 5A and the piston rod 3, thereby preventing the inner end 5A from being contacted with the piston rod 3. While the piston rod 3 extends or retracts, the guiding portion 9C slides on the inner wall of the cover 5, thereby preventing the cover 5 from sliding on the tube 1. |
