PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject material capable of being used in a wide temperature range by including a mixture containing a smectic liquid crystal compound. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal charge transfer material comprises a mixture containing at least one smectic liquid crystal compound, preferably a compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are each a 1-22C hydrocarbon; R3 is H, cyano or the like; X1 and X2 are each O, S or the like) and preferably further a compound of formula II, and can change its employment temperature range without relating to the characteristic liquid crystallization temperature of the liquid crystal compound having a charge transfer property. The compound preferably has an electron or hall mobility of >=1×10<-5> cm<2> /vs.
