PRINT CONTROLLER, LOW POWER CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR AND MEMORY MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER READABLE PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save power consumption drastically under a data waiting state by providing a means for monitoring the state of receiving a data from a data processing periodically and making a transition to a low power supply state of the printing body upon detecting a data waiting state. SOLUTION: A data controller 104 controlling print processing for printing body through communication with a data processor (host computer) is provided with a host interface control section 122, i.e., a means for monitoring the state of receiving a data from the data processor periodically. A CPU 100 makes a decision whether a data is waited or not based on the periodic monitoring state. More specifically a decision is made based on the state of the data controller 104 every time when an interruption signal 107 from a timer 101 is received. When the decision results indicate a data waiting state, a transition is made to low power supply state of the printing body thus saving power consumption under data waiting state.
