PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of an image focused on the light receiving means of a line scanning optical apparatus by preventing generation of a stripe pattern pertaining to the space part of recording. SOLUTION: An optical shutter in an optical apparatus for controlling passage of line type luminous flux comprises a plurality of pixels 559 arrange in one or a plurality of rows along the line direction and each pixel has an opening area 559a which can select passage or blocking of light. The opening areas of pixels adjacent in the line direction have such parts as the tracks are superposed at the time of scanning in the direction vertical to the line.
