PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink supply for supplying a print head with ink from a main tank through a subtank in which the print head is supplied smoothly with ink while suppressing bubbles by separating bubbles from ink in the subtank and feeding ink quickly. SOLUTION: A subtank 11 is sectioned into a plurality of ink rooms 22-24 by partition walls 25, 26 provided with upper conducting sections 28, 29 allowing movement of the air, and lower conducting holes 30, 31 allowing movement of ink. Ink discharge holes 11a for discharging ink from a main tank through an ink supply hole 11b and the lower conducting holes 30, 31 to a print head are arranged not to be aligned on a line so that ink flows while snaking through the subtank 11. The lower conducting holes 30, 3 are 2-4 mm high, the height of upper fringe thereof from the bottom face of tank is 2-7 mm, the width is 3-8 mm, and the length from the center of the lower conducting hole 30, 31 to the ink supply hole 11b or the ink discharge hole 11a is 50% or more of the overall length of the tank. |
