SUPPLY OF PAPER WEB OR PAPERBOARD WEB WITH LIQUID OR PASTY COATING AGENT AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out uniform coating by coating a wet paper web in a wet sheet forming process by a coating apparatus installed opposingly to a suction zone with a liquid or pasty coating agent and controlling humidity before and after the coating. SOLUTION: A wet paper web 1 having 3-50%, preferably 3-23%, more preferably 3-7% solid paper stock content placed on a sheet forming net 2 is guided along a suction roller 5 and is coated with 1-15 g/m<2> per one side of a liquid or pasty coating agent 9 by a coating apparatus 8 installed opposingly to a suction zone 6 arranged in a winding and hanging zone of the wet paper web 1 in the suction roller 5. The web is subjected to humidity control with steam and/or water at a place just before a coating part on the wet paper web 1 by a first applicator 7.1 and to humidity control again after the coating by a second applicator 7.2 to uniform the coating.
