FIELD: sealing of through gaps between wall of housing and shaft rotated relative to wall. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes sealing ring 1 embracing shaft, sealed relative to wall 2 and relative to shaft 3 and driven to rotation by means of shaft 3. Springy member 9 is mounted with mechanical stress created due to torque acting upon sealing ring 1 at rotation. Apparatus includes means for determining stress and indicating message at significant fluctuation of stress from nominal value. Sliding of sealing ring 1 on shaft 3 may be determined at any time, mainly without inertia. It allows to preliminarily detect and prevent flaws of ring 1 and(or) shaft 3.
