PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject protein capable of transmitting the stimulation of IL-6 to a target cell and having reduced antigenicity by ligating a gene encoding IL-6 with the downstream of an IL-6 receptor gene through a gene sequence comprising one to five amino acids. SOLUTION: This fused protein is obtained by ligating a gene encoding IL-6 with the downstream of an IL-6 receptor gene through a linker sequence (preferably SSELV) comprising one to five amino acids, transducing the prepared gene encoding the fused protein into a proper host cell, and subsequently culturing the cell to express the fused protein.
