摘要 A submarine exploration system 1 comprising at least one submarine assembly 3 having at least one signal detector. A buoy 5 is connected to the said submarine assembly by a submarine cable 38, the buoy has battery 32 or solar powered wireless communication means 28 and antenna (fig. 1, no.7 or fig.2, no.26) for transmitting said detected signals. The submarine assembly is associated with remote station 9 which receives the transmitted detected signals. The submarine assembly comprises an elongate arm (fig.3, no.42) to which is attached hydrophones (fig.3, nos.62,64,66), geophones (fig.3, nos.44,46,48) or both, there are also acoustic transponder means (fig.3, nos.58,60) for indicating the location and alignment of the assembly . An anchor may be provided to reduce the drift of the assembly. A marine vessel (fig.4, no.70) such as a catamaran is associated with the device, the vessel having a conveyor belt (fig.4, no.74) which allows the assembly to be deployed in the water and also conveyed from the surface of the water back into the vessel.
