The arrangement comprises an untreated-gas cooler 3 between an electrostatic filter 2 and a gas scrubber 6 which extracts sulphur from the untreated gas, as seen in the direction of flow of the untreated-gas stream 1. A clean-gas heater 8 is incorporated into the clean-gas stream 7 between the gas scrubber 6 and a stack 9. The untreated-gas cooler 3 and the clean-gas heater 8 are coupled to one another via a cooling fluid which runs through a closed circuit 11. The size of the heat- transfer surfaces in the untreated-gas cooler 3 is dimensioned in such a way, in relation to the amount and velocity of the untreated gas, that the untreated gas which is passed in indirect countercurrent to the cooling fluid, in every area of the untreated-gas cooler 3, is at a temperature which is equal to or higher than the saturation curve in the SO3/ degree C temperature diagram defined by the specific dew point temperature. In this way, it is possible to prevent the formation of sulphuric acid aerosols and/or to separate sulphuric acid aerosols which have formed out of the untreated gas. <IMAGE> |
