A coupling metal for odd-shaped bar steels having an excellent bending strength, high tensile strength and high compression strength, capable of being applied to positions where dense arrangement of bars is necessary, insuring a smooth flow of concrete between the bars, and capable of being used in a place where a sufficient work space cannot be secured. The coupling metal comprises a connecting cylinder which is a cylindrical body comprising at least two longitudinally slit members and having at least each end side serving as a bar clamping portion for clamping an odd-shaped bar to be coupled, an outer cylinder comprising a main body portion formed by bending a sheet material into a sleeve shape and a pair of flange portions so formed as to face each other at both edges of the main body portion, the flanges having a plurality of bolt insertion holes, and fitted or inserted to the connecting cylinder from outside, and fastening bolts for fastening both flanges when fitted into the bolt insertion holes of the flanges, wherein grooves into which protuberances of the odd-shaped bar steel fit are formed in the inner surface of each bar steel clamping portion of the connecting cylinder. |
