This invention belongs to the field of microbiology and environmental protection. The new micro-organism Arthrobacter globiformis MD18 (deposited in the Biodestructor research laboratory of the Botanic Institute, collection number B-84), is extracted from soil contaminated with black oil. The micro-organism effectively decomposes oil and oil compounds. This micro-organism is used for biological soil and water treatment against oil and oil product contamination.
