An improved apparatus for reducing the drag of a moving body at the trailing end of a moving body, by adding vertical and horizontal panels that attach by hinge means along the perimeter of said trailing end. The deployment of these panels effects a tapered extension backward from the base of the vehicle so as to provide a partial boat tailing of the fluid air flow passing by the base in a direction opposite to that of the moving body. The panels are preferable hinged so that they can be folded up flat against the rear of the vehicle when not in use.
