A stand (1) supports a device (3) e.g. a surgical microscope, and is position-adjustable. The stand (1) has a holding arm (17) with an adjuster unit (19), by means of which the position of the device (3) may be varied with respect to the arm (17). The adjuster (19) has a variable-position sliding disc (25).
