The speed alteration process involves the graph of the speed (v) of the printing cylinder, depending on the time (t) during the speed alteration having a segment-of-circle region (k1), a linear region (l) and a second segment-of-circle region (k2). These regions are determined by specified formulas. The linear region may be inserted tangentially between the two segment-of-circle regions.
